I didnt know until recently that Romulus Michigan has it's very own Grand Prix.

A matter of fact it runs several days and is open free to the public.

The great thing about this Grand Prix is you can be a spectator or you can drive in it. It doesnt matter what kind of car, truck or motorcycle you drive because all are welcome and your vehicle doesnt need to meet any race car specifications to join in.

Take I-94 to the Detroit Metropolitan Airport exit and enter on to the Airport service drive.

You will pass several signs marked 45 MPH and several speed devices telling you how fast you are going, but just ignore them because they serve no purpose! You do have to slow down to around 15 MPH over the speed limit while passing airport terminals, but as soon as you pass them it's your choice how fast you go.

I know some of you are thinking the Airport Police will pull you over and give you a ticket. I assure you the Airport Police are well aware of the situation and are never to be found. A matter of fact I spoke to an Airport officer today outside the McNamara Terminal this morning just before 8 AM and he stated they are quite aware of it and for me to just hurry and get moving.

So if your bored or broke and need something to do just take the short ride to Detroit Metropolitan Airport for a free day of fun and racing.

Disclaimer: This blog is meant as sarcasm to a real life situation and is in no way saying it is ok to to violate the posted speed limits. In fact the writer of this blog never goes over the speed limit or violates any traffic laws.

How wonderful for Romulus! Sadly, here in Royal Oak we are deprived of such sporting entertainment. Must have something to do with the radar units hidden in the bushes and garbage bins. ( I swear they come out of nowhere ). Mean old police chief. ;)

Maby I should enter the old Dodge in the Romulun Race ? I would be like the " Al Bundy " of race car drivers . Besides , I'm not too bad on two wheels , bootleg turns and the like . Maby the old Dodge could use some exitement .

Hey, stop picking on communist romulus police. If you speed on eureka rd between middlebelt rd. and I-275 i assure you will be pulled over, or I-275 NORTH AT Pennsylvania rd., they like to hide on the overpass behind the sighn so traffic going north wont see the little cockrouch up there in his plane unmarked car with lazer. and also on I-94 at the Vinning rd overpass they do the same with east bound traffic.. Communist Romulus police also like to toll away semi trucks, you know the hard working person trying to make a living.. I never understood why a cith would hassle the truck driver when the citys liviyhood depends on the trucking indstrial..Go to the Communist Romulus courthouse and you will count hundreads there in one day to pay tickets...

The airport has their own Police Department. I go into the airport around 10 times a week and so far I have never seen a Police Officer anywhere but parked at a terminal once in a while.

Im a Emergency Medical Technician and in the last year I worked to pass a law to make it mandatory for all ambulances in the State of Michigan to carry Heart Defibrillators!!! In 2005 only around 20% of private ambulances carried them!!! Because I passed the law several organizations have me on a job black list and will not hire me!!! It doesnt matter because I recently became an EMT to save lives and by having Defibrillators on all ambulances many lives will be saved!!! In my spare time I also collect unusual antique stuff and I have a large Faygo collection dating back to 1921!!!
