Macy’s 2008 Glamorama - Pop Candy Arcade
Cyndi Lauper and MC Hammer headline this year’s 80’s-themed fashion extravaganza celebrating its 10th anniversary benefiting the Art Institute of Chicago
Macy’s Glamorama 2008 is heading back to the ’80s this Friday, August 22, with an arcade of eye candy couture and modern sounds. Glamorama will once again raise money to support the Auxiliary Board and Evening Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago (AIC). 2008 marks the 10th anniversary of Glamorama benefiting the AIC. Over the past nine years, Macy’s has raised more than $2 million for the AIC.
Here’s a look at what’s in store for Glamorama this year:
Glamorama Red Carpet, outside of the Chicago Theatre
August 22, 7 p.m.
Glamorama will kick off with a radically awesome star-studded red carpet event outside of the Chicago Theatre. The place to see and be seen, the red carpet is just the beginning of an evening filled with bodacious fashion and radical sights and sounds. The following celebrities are confirmed to host and walk the red carpet:
? Tanika Ray (Co-host of the Red Carpet)
Weekend correspondent for Extra who’s co-hosted The View; often a panelist on network news shows
· Lawrence Zarian (Co-host of the Red Carpet)
An entertainment & fashion correspondent known as “the fashion guy” who’s often seen on Regis & Kelly and Extra and known as “my favorite guest” by Leeza Gibbons
? Cyndi Lauper (Headliner of this year’s Glamorama)

Glamorama Show & Post-Party
August 22, 8 p.m. show at the Chicago Theatre; Post-party immediately following at Macy’s, 7th floor
Macy’s Glamorama will pump up the volume of the fall season in style with 28 Shopsm designer and contemporary collections along with awesome entertainment. Headlined by the chart-topping ’80s superstar Cyndi Lauper and late ’80s hip-hop sensation MC Hammer, Macy’s will once again rock the runway featuring an A-list line-up of designers, including Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan Collection, Celine, and more. Immediately following the fashion show, Macy’s will host a flashback post-party on the 7th floor of Macy’s on State Street. The space will be transformed into a rockin’ scene with numerous interactive elements, nearly 25 bars and food stations serving gourmet fare, and a dance floor led by DJ Berrie who will spin in a gnarly boombox-shaped DJ booth.

City Chase Chicago is The World’s Largest Urban Adventure Race Series. It will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 10am at the the Daley Center, 50 W. Washington.
