Dear Gov. Blagojavich,
NUTS to you, Mike Madigan and all you corrupt chumps. Hey, thanks for riding in on a white horse at the last minute after those of us who rely on the CTA have been losing sleep for how long now? Y'all are back-handing, grandstanding chumps, and no matter what you do you, you sold us all out. And we don't believe a word of your double-talk.
You screwed us, for your own political gain. I repeat: no matter what you guys do now, you screwed us good and hard, and we are going to vote you guys out, one by one, over the next election cycle.
Gov: have a nice flight downstate.

So, where were y'all when the Big Burst hit downtown?
I was giving a tour on top of a double-decker bus. Super! We'd just pulled up to the Water Tower, a regular stop for us, and we could see the dark clouds coming. We decided not to move out, which was wise.
In an instant, the sky EXPLODED! I was on the sidewalk and had to get the twenty or so people off the top of the bus and into the Tourist Center in the Pumping Station. MAN! It happened suddenly, and the rain actually HURT, coming at us horizontally. Actually, the tourists took it well, with courage and humor!
Later that night, I was chilling to the TV when I stepped off my couch INTO WATER...HELL-o! I'm in a "garden" apartment and had the back door open for the breeze. Unbeknownst to Moi, rain was flowing indoors and the inside drain had clogged with dirt. I didn't hear the water streaming in.
Take it from me: keep your books and records off the floor!
Anyone?

Hey you guys: I'm sorry I went off the other day. I don't know, I like being able to blog my anxiety because just doing it makes me feel better. I don't want to bring anyone down!
I would also like to say that I'm single and very, very attractive.
HAVE A GREAT DAY, EVERYONE!
love,
jj

HERE'S ME GOING OFF:
I'm mad as Hell and I'm not going to take this anymore. WE are letting these thugs have guns. "I shouted out 'Who killed Schanna Gayden?!' when after all it was you and me!" kinda thing. We're giving them, HANDING THEM guns, might as well give them training, too. That way, fewer iINNOCENT CHILDREN would die. I'm sorry, I'm sick of it. ENFORCE THE LAWS WE ALREADY HAVE, like. Yep, I feel guilty. I live five blocks away from the Gayden family. I say it's time for the "Drug War" (what a joke!) Generals to suspend us some some habeas corpus here and find these weapons. Now. Heck, suspend posse comitatus, for that matter, and get the ARMY, WAIT, the National Guard in here at home (that way we needn't suspend posse comitatus, too! neat!) to kick some ass and find those weapons, like they're trained to. WE are letting this happen, ears blissfully plugged with i-Phone buds. Thoughts?
Here's my Ben Stein: "Anyone?"...

Fellow Fox Bloggers,
I don't know about y'all, but I am finally beginning to understand why the elderly move to Florida. My butt is DRAGGIN' these last couple of days, and I'm interested in Doldrum Remedies, including weekend plans. A couple of weeks ago, when it was a lot like it is today, my next door neighbor fired up his OUTDOOR hot tub, and brought out the TV to watch the ballgame. THAT'S what I'm talking about!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to blog with us on the VA Tech tragedy!
I only had to delete one inappropriate post, and the blog was featured on the Main Page News Blog list, which I think is pretty cool!
Tammie Souza is right: this is the BEST News Web Site in the business!
Peace,

My Fellow Bloggers,
I'm about to leave now to teach three, two-hour college English classes in downtown Chicago. THIS will be the topic of our discussion today, and I look forward to encourage my students and colleagues to join us here to keep a respectful dialogue going.
I'll emphasize to them the value of tone in a context like this, where emotions are raw. Let's set a good example!
Hang tough, ya'll, and let's keep the dialogue going!
Respect,
jj tindall

I heard the news online early today, checking my e-mail between English classes I teach at a local art college. As with the Don Imus scandal, my students and I talked it out for the first part of class. Not everyone had heard about it, as wired up as students are.
My view right now? We have a handgun and a parenting crisis on our hands in this country.

Friends, Countrymen: lend me your earmuffs!
For once, I was ready for this April cold wave. It happens every year!
SAVOR MAY! Mark my words: after watching Tam Souza with delight and care over the years, I know damn well that Memorial Day, Spring is over, and we'll be complaining about the heat.
Hope everyone has a happy and safe Easter/Holiday weekend!
