This is the third in a periodic on-going series of feature reports about iconic Chicago-area business and institutions that have truly been responsible for "Putting Chicago on the Map." (Aired on 10/7/07.)

We previously profiled The Chicago Board of Trade and the Leo Burnett advertising agency. Coming soon: Abbott, Second City and Wrigley.

If you have any suggestions for other iconic businesses we should feature, drop me a line at mark.saxenmeyer@foxchicago.com or send me a comment below!

How about the Chicago White Sox stadium, my brother in law went there and thought it was great and he's from NY. I guess the Wite Sox are the back seat team to the Cubs but they won a world series in this century. Give this team the respect there adding more to that windy city then hot air!

"Putting Chicago on the Map"? You're kidding me, right? Chicago is one of the most vibrant and unique cities in the nation. Who hasn't heard of Chicago, the El, the museums, the jazz, the nightlife, etc. etc. I love Chicago.

By the way, I live in Phoenix. ;)

Rosatti's would've probably been a better subject rather than Portillos...Port's food isn't bad..But it's cost for what you get is on the undesirable side...5 bucks for a beef sandwhich & you get this small roll with a few slices of beef...I'll go to Jay's before Port's any day of the week...
