I remember back in the 1990’s, one of my mother’s uncle’s came over to visit from Cuba. Tio Juan just called my parents up from Havana one day and said that he would be coming over for a visit, and to pick him up at the airport on a certain day. This guy was a little strange to say the least. My parents picked him up at the airport and took him out to eat; they also went to stores and the botanical gardens.

While he was here, I found out that the spoke English, Chinese, and Russian, 8 languages all-together. My mother told me that he was very smart, when he was a young man in Havana; he was studying to become a medical doctor. But, for some reason he did not finish his studies. Before Watergate occurred, some of the Cuban’s that eventually broke into the Watergate hotel went to Cuba and tried recruit him. He turned them down and they went back to the United States. He joked about that and said, “it was a good thing that I said no, or I would have done a 20 year stretch with them.” After my mother told me that, she said, “don’t ever tell anybody that.” That was the second time that I have ever had one of my parents use the phrase.

The first time was in the 70’s when my father told me his real name before he had it legally changed, it was Simone Domingo. While he was here he said some very strange things like “communism was the best thing since sliced bread.” My older brother who is a Cook County Corrections Officer, told me that he had said to him, “why don’t you come back to Cuba with me and I’ll get you a nice job with the Cuban secret police”. One time my family was having dinner with Tio Juan, my mother’s half brother Ray was there. He is a convicted sex offender that raped an alleged prostitute in the back seat of his car at knifepoint. He did five years in prison for that in the earlier 80’s. Tio Juan said to him during dinner, “you’re very nervous and jittery, you need to be more claim, like him.” He of course meant me, he turns to me and said, “I’ve been watching you, even at the store and on the street, you’re claim…that’s good.” He had told me that he had lived all over the world when he had been a young man; he said that he had even lived here in New York during the 1950’s and 60’s.

After several days he left and visited with other relatives in Florida, New Jersey, and California. Then he went back to Cuba. After he went back to Cuba, I saw photographs of him and my parents that my father had taken. One of the photos was at the airport, he and my mother were in it, and there was a big guy standing right behind him. I asked my mother who that was, and what she told me was very strange. She told me that it was a passenger that had been on the same flight as her Uncle, the man was from Canada. She also told me that just about everywhere they went, even the Botanical gardens the same thing happened. Passengers that had been on the same flight as him, kept going up to him, said hello in English, shook his hand, and walked away. They were from Spain, Canada, France, Mexico, Italy, Australia, and Venezuela. Just about every, except the United States.

What’s the deal with Michael Phelps? He’s a 23 yr. old man that makes 5 million a year and still lives at home with his mother. If I had made 5 million a year, when I was 23, I would have moved to another state. Michael also passed up on the traditional Wheats box for a sugary cereal, and claims that he takes in 12,000 calories a day? Not even bodybuilders and Sumo wrestlers consume 12,000 calories a day. He even calls his mother DP, is Michael Phelps out of his mind. I know that those are the initials of his mother’s name Debbie Phelps, who is a middle school principal. But, doesn’t he know what else DP stands for, I’ll give you a hint, it’s not Diversified Products. It stands for something that freaks do, no one in their right mind would call their mother that. Also, what is the deal with that lisp? Is Michael Phelps gay?

Maybe that’s the reason why his mother doesn’t want him to live on his own. Either, she thinks that he is not capable of living alone, or she thinks that if he ever left the nest, the gay boys would turn him like a dime.

This is one of the strangest political campaigns that I have ever seen in my life. Exactly who is this Sara Palin woman? Two terms as a very small town council woman and two terms as a very small town mayor, in 2002 Palin ran for Lt. Governor of Alaska and lost. Four years later, she was elected as the governor of that state. Two very short years after that, she is now vice-president material? What in the hell is going on?

Someone did not just put her career on the fast track; someone put her career on the rocket-propelled track. This is unbelievable; Palin might have been the most qualified person in a very small town of only 7,000. Her good looks and popularity won her the governor’s election in Alaska. But, when it comes to national politics and the second highest office in the country. Palin is by far not the most qualified person.

Usually, it takes several decades for someone to get where Sara Palin is right now. It looks to me like someone is pulling strings and playing a very dangerous game with the country. Why in the world would an unknown be considered for vice-president, after only two short years as the governor of a state?

Ok, so who this Sara chick, I did a little research on goggle and this is what I found out. Sarah Louise Heath Palin, born on February 11, 1964 is the current governor of Alaska, and is the presumptive Republican vice presidential nominee in the 2008 United States presidential election.

Palin served two terms on the Wasilla, Alaska, city council from 1992 to 1996, then won two terms as mayor of Wasilla from 1996 to 2002. After an unsuccessful campaign for lieutenant governor of Alaska in 2002, she chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2003 to 2004 while also serving as Ethics Supervisor of the commission.

On December 2006, Palin was sworn in as the governor of Alaska, becoming the first woman and youngest person to hold the office. She defeated incumbent Republican governor Frank Murkowski in the Republican primary and former Democratic governor Tony Knowles in the general election.

On August 29, 2008, Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain announced that he had chosen Palin as his running mate. She is expected to be formally nominated at the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. She would be the second woman to run for vice president on a major-party ticket and the first Republican to do so.

Palin was born Sarah Louise Heath in Sandpoint, Idaho, the third of four children of Sarah Heath, a school secretary, and Charles R. Heath, a science teacher and track coach. Her family moved to Alaska when she was an infant. As a child, she would sometimes go moose hunting with her father before school, and the family regularly ran 5K and 10K races.

Palin attended Wasilla High School in Wasilla, Alaska, where she was the head of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at the school and the point guard and captain of the school's basketball team. She helped the team win the Alaska small-school basketball championship in 1982, hitting a critical free throw in the last seconds of the game, despite having an ankle stress fracture at the time. She earned the nickname "Sarah Barracuda" because of her intense play and was the leader of team prayer before games.

In 1984, Palin won the Miss Wasilla beauty contest (according to most but not all sources, playing the flute and winning the "Miss Congeniality" award as well), then finished second in the Miss Alaska pageant, at which she won a college scholarship. Palin attended Hawaii Pacific College - now known as Hawaii Pacific University - in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1982 for a semester, where she majored in Business Administration, and transferred in 1983 to North Idaho College. In 1987 Palin received a Bachelor of Science degree in communications-journalism from the University of Idaho, where she also minored in political science. In 1988, she worked briefly as a sports reporter for KTUU-TV in Anchorage, Alaska, and helped in her husband’s family commercial fishing business.

Palin is an obvious over achiever and does have some political experience. However, Gov. Palin does not compare to Sen. Joe Biden, who has more then 30 years of experience as a U.S. Senator. For McCain to pick this woman as his running mate makes no sense at all. It was an obvious political ploy to get the female vote and stress the point that Obama passed on Sen. Clinton.

Why is there such an epidemic of binge drinking by most college and university students? With the presence of alcohol there is usually the presence of sex. Could this be related in some way to the ancient sex cults, such as the cult of wine? In Roman and Greek mythology, Dionysus was the god of wine and madness. The cult of wine was very secretive and legendary for its drunken orgies.

Could these cults still be around today, or similar cults that have the same bizarre sex rituals and practices? It wouldn’t be that much of a stretch of the imagination to consider that these types of things go on at colleges and universities.  When these people graduate, they do not cancel their memberships either. In theory, this might explain some of the very bizarre things that a lot of people do while at work, or in their private lives. I have read that the F.B.I. is very aware of this problem; there are even teenage sex cults in America. Perhaps, this type of problem could help to explain the amount of wide spread corruption in government. Society reflects government and vise-versa. The government is corrupt because so is society.

Omg, shaft found dead by a treadmill, holy BLEEP, is that stuff for real? Are you sure it wasn’t found dead by a peanut butter, bacon, and banana sandwich and a two pound bag of marijuana? I hear that cool hydroponic pot is more potent than a motherBLEEPer. God damn, found dead by a treadmill, that’s enough to scare every fat black boy in America from exercising. It must have been the pot, or a whole lot of pork. Oh man, that’s it, from now on I’m getting my work out by doing bitches.

It is obvious that things are getting out of hand, more and more violent crimes are occurring in the city each day. It’s getting to the point where decent law abiding citizens are no longer safe, not even in their own homes. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I believe that the city should get rid of all the dangerous criminals and hoodlums to ensure the safety of the law-abiding residents of the city. By not allowing this dangerous element back into the city, the residents of Chicago would be a lot safer. After all, it’s not law-abiding citizens that are causing all the problems, it’s bad element that has a history of such behavior.

New laws and policies have to be enacted in order to ensure the publics safety. Otherwise, it’s just a revolving door of dangerous criminals coming back into the city. Jails and prisons don’t seem to be rehabilitating anyone. Dangerous criminals that break the law and go to jail, when released they just go back to doing the same things as before.

In grizzly bear country, when a grizzly becomes dangerous, it is tagged and relocated. If the grizzly goes back to the same place, it becomes a threat and is put down. In the same manner, when a criminal becomes too dangerous, they should be tagged and relocated, if they come back, they go to prison.

After a 17-month investigation by the federal government, Patrick Fitzgerald the Illinois U.S. Attorney announces that changes must be made at the jail. Harsh treatment, verbal abuse, serves beatings by correctional officers, unsanitary conditions, inadequate health care, unnecessary amputations and three suicides as stated by the federal report.

After all of that, The Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart response was that the federal government’s finds were unfair to his reform program. It was unfair and unprofessional for the federal government to send in uncover agents to find out exactly what was going on inside the jail. Why is uncovering a massive culture of corruption unfair? Cook County jail is the largest facility of it’s kind in the nation with 9,500 inmates, and it only has one dentist. That is one reform program to be proud of.

Recently on an episode of Hispanics Today, I saw a story about NASA's Constellation Project. Looks like the government feels that there is a need to colonized the moon.  The United States government plans on returning to the moon by the year 2020, and colonizing.  From what I heard on that segment, the colonist will be staying on the moon for many years. My question is why does the government feel that there is a need to go to the moon and stay there? I would think that this would be a bit of a burden on U.S. taxpayers.

What would the government get out of colonized the moon? The government is just like a business. No one in his or her right mind plans on building a facility somewhere, without making a profit from it. I understand that NASA operates on money allocated from the U.S. government, and the Constellation project has a budget. But, why should the government spend money on going back to the moon and colonized it? When times are so tough these days, perhaps that money would be better spent elsewhere.

F r e e S c h a p e l l e . n e t   When I flew to Bali on 8 October 2004, I imagined my biggest problem was going to be deciding which sarong to wear with which bikini… - Schapelle Corby. Schapelle Leigh Corby, a 27 year old Australian was traveling to Bali Indonesia to celebrate her sister's birthday. But her dream holiday ended up a waking nightmare when on October 8, 2004, Schapelle was arrested in the Denpassar airport after 4.2 kilograms of marijuana was found in her boogie-board bag. Though completely innocent, Schapelle was forced to face the consequences of someone else's crime. Her fate would be decided on May 27 2005 in the Denpassar District Court. Schapelle's trial and conviction became one of the biggest news stories of the decade in Australia. An entire nation watched in horror as she was sentenced to twenty years in jail. Despite legal appeals and a whole nation calling for her release, Schapelle Corby remains in the squalor of Kerobokan Prison [Bali]. Every day is a struggle for survival but Schapelle is determined in her fight for justice. She steadfastly maintains her innocence! Schapelle Corby is a kind and compassionate young woman, a loving sister, a loyal friend and faithful daughter. She does not deserve what's happened to her but will keep fighting against insurmountable odds until freedom is hers! 'I long to be free and live again outside these walls… I will never understand why this happened to me. Why my bag… Right now I'm empty, lost and numb... It's been so long since I've felt peaceful and happy. So long since I've smiled and laughed on the inside and out… I sound like a broken record but I will keep saying it: I'm innocent, I'm innocent, I'm innocent.' - Quotes from Schapelle's book 'My Story'. 'There is no chance, no fate, no destiny that can circumvent, or hinder, or control a firm resolve of a determined soul.' Schapelle Corby 'could work her way free' Potential leader ... Schapelle Corby is a very good prisoner, the outgoing head of her jail said. CONVICTED Australian drug trafficker Schapelle Corby may be up for a prison job that could shave years off the 20-year sentence she is serving in an Indonesian jail. The outgoing head of Bali's Kerobokan Prison today said Corby should be made an inmates' leader - a role that could see up to 11 months cut from her sentence each year. Corby, who last month lost her final appeal against her sentence, was a "very good" prisoner, Ilham Djaya said. He said she should be considered for the role of Tamping, where she would lead a small group of prisoners, or the key role of Pemuka, who oversees the Tamping leaders. Should Corby make the rank of Pemuka, she could be eligible for sentence cuts of up to 11 months every year, Mr Djaya said. Smaller remissions apply to Tamping leaders. Mr Djaya offered his support for Corby despite the former Gold Coast beauty student's controversial stint at Kerobokan. Since her detention almost four years ago for cannabis smuggling, Corby has written a book describing the prison as a "disgusting slum". She missed out on a sentence remission last year after she was found with a mobile phone in her cell. I just want to go home, says Schapelle SCHAPELLE Corby fought back tears yesterday as she told how she wants to go home as soon as possible, joking with the departing Bali jail governor that she "would like to be leaving" with him. It was the first time the 30-year-old has spoken publicly since her last ditch appeal was dismissed by Indonesia's highest court last month. At a farewell ceremony for the popular jail boss Ilham Djaya, Corby's lawyer Erwin Siregar spoke with her briefly about the lost appeal and about the next steps in the fight to have her freed. Corby's despair and tears at her failure to beat a 20-year jail sentence for possession of 4.1kg of marijuana came just a day after two highly ranked Jemaah Islamiah terrorist leaders were jailed for less time - 15 years - for possession of a massive cache of weapons and explosives to be used in terror attacks. Corby has final appeal rejected Schapelle Corby has had her final appeal for a sentence reduction rejected by the Indonesian Supreme Court. Court officials are yet to make the formal announcement, however they are tonight expected to confirm that Corby will be required to complete a 20-year jail sentence for drug smuggling. The former Queensland beautician was caught trying to import just over 4 kilograms of marihuana into Bali's Denpasar Airport in August 2004. Through a series of appeals, Corby has failed in her bid to reduce the overall jail sentence. Recent speculation has pointed to the possibility that Schapelle Corby may be transferred to an Australian prison, where she would serve out the remaining time in her sentence. With the sentence confirmed as 20-years, Corby is now likely to be in prison until at least 2020. SCHAPELLE CORBY Sentenced to 20 Years in Bali for what? The Facts are… Schapelle checked in her bag at Brisbane airport and neither she, nor her travelling companions, had any contact with it until after it arrived in Bali. Schapelle's travelling companion's luggage and Schapelle's own luggage were also never searched. Neither the Indonesian nor the Australian governments wanted to, or did investigate this case. There was no investigation into where or how Schapelle intended to sell the marijuana, if indeed the Bali police truly believed her guilty. The Bali Police refused to analyse the marijuana that convicted her. Hair from those who grew it would be in the resin. They didn't want anyone to investigate. Later, this marijuana was destroyed, obliterating any chance it could be used to acquit Schapelle. A Victim of Injustice… It Can happen to You! The Australian Federal government failed to pass on to Schapelle Corby's lawyers a Customs report into drug smuggling at Australian airports. It said it never knew the document existed. The report revealed that baggage handlers were diverting bags containing large amounts of drugs from incoming international flights to domestic baggage carousels. Schapelle Corby checked her luggage in at Brisbane airport and that was the last contact she had with her luggage until she arrived in Bali. In Sydney, her boogie board had been too big for the conveyor, so Qantas baggage handlers loaded it on a trolley, hauled it to Pier C where it was left unattended for 97 minutes, until half an hour before the Bali flight's departure. It was then loaded into a baggage canister which contained two other bags. This canister was closed by a canvas flap but not locked. The CCTV recorded images that might have shown Schapelle's boogie board loaded into the canister were wiped after 72 hours. Australian Federal Police (AFP) now openly admit that drug dealers are known to use innocent travellers as unsuspecting drug mules. 9.9kgs of cocaine was smuggled into Sydney airport from Argentina on the 8th October 2004, the same day, within minutes of Schapelle Corby's flight to Bali. AFP confirmed that trafficking through airports does happen. The drugs are inserted into a piece of luggage at one airport, a photograph of the target bag and its tag are sent [emailed] to the destination airport, where baggage handlers remove the drugs before the passenger collects the bag.

A same sex marriage is an oxy-moron, it use to be the people got married for the purpose of raising a family. Same sex couples will never be able to procreate and produce a child. These people are fighting for the right to do something that they have said no to. When they said no to the opposite sex, they said no to marriage and children. They are selfish and manipulative; they want the laws, traditions, and customs to change so that they can be accommodated. So, they can pretend to be a “normal” couple and raise a family. However, the fact of the matter is that will never be the case.

On one side, there is the right to equality, but would this really be equality? Why not let these people live their lives as they want. Why not give them the right to do something that they themselves have said no to. On the other side, there is the fact that changing the law would affect many other people as well. Many people believe this would be wrong. What ever happened to God, the bible, and religion? Changing the law would be throwing all of these beliefs out the window.

There is separation of church and state, however, changing a law just to accommodate what many believe to be a perverse way of life and a small group of society would not be right. What makes these people think that they have a right to get married and have children? When they themselves have said no to that. They chose a same sex relationship, and they chose not to be breeders. These people have rights, but what about the rights of others. What about all the people that do not want to see the sanctity of marriage to be perverted?

Even though I don’t agree with homosexuality, I also don’t agree with telling someone else how to live his or her own life.  With that said, just because you can do something, that does not mean that you should actually do it.  Homosexuality is still defined as a form of mental illness.  A man who thinks that he is a woman, or a woman that thinks she is a man, suffers from a form of psychosis.  There is not much difference between that and a man who thinks he is a pro fighter, comic book character, and TV or movie character.  These people obviously have the right to do as they choose, but are they choosing wisely?  Same sex marriages would re-define the law, however, nature can never be re-defined.  Trying to re-define reality is not always a good idea, some things will always be a constant.

When a same sex couple adopts a child and tries to introduce an element into an environment where it cannot exist, that creates a paradox.  Two males or two females will never be able to procreate and produce an off spring, this will never happen in nature.  Just because a same sex couple wants to experience parenthood and adopt a child that might not be in the best interest of that child.  Children need as much normalcy as possible; this would include a mother and father.  Childhood can be very difficult, when that child is raised in a same sex household, that could make things much more difficult for them.  Just that fact alone could make them a target of ridicule.  When that child grows up, the same sex couple that raised them could turn into that child’s object of resentment.

Where is this society headed, where will this society be in another 20 to 25 years from now.  Everyday this country is turning more and more into a Sodom and Gomorrah.  When Hugh Hefner, an old man, propositioned a 15-year-old girl (Millie Cyrus) to pose nude in his magazine, in three years, that did not create much controversy.   If a man on the street came up to your 15 year old daughter and told her that she was a very pretty lady, and wanted her to pose nude in his magazine in three years.  How would you as a parent react to that disgusting offer?  Another object of controversy is Brittney Spears younger sister, Jamie Lyn Spears.  This 15-year-old pregnant child walks around in public like it was nothing; no one seems to care that much any more.  Has modern society evolved to a higher pointed or has it de-evolved to a lower primate state, where anything goes?

The three temp agencies that I still had been registered with let me go. When I spoke to a representative from one agency about assignments, she asked me to come in and re-register with them because they had not sent me on an assignment in a long time. When I got to her office she changed her story and told me that the requirements had changed and employers want someone with a college degree and at least two to five years of experience. So, based on my resume, she would not be able to find anything for me. I spoke to the president of the agency; he told me that he would speak to her about this. About a week later, he told me that person on longer worked there. He said to contact the manager. I did and never heard back from her.

They lied to me; a college degree is not required for entry-level clerical temp work. Temporary agencies test people on their skills, based on the evaluation of that skills test, they are placed on assignment. Temp agencies even offer training. The second temp agency said pretty much the same thing. Another representative from the third temp agency also told me that she had nothing available every time that I called. After a very long time she told me that they no longer handle general office or clerical assignments. This does not sound right to me; even a school kid can get an entry-level temp job.

I was lied to in order to disqualify me. A college degree is not needed for entry-level general office, or clerical temp work, nor is experience. This would be like an employer telling a candidate at an interview, that a college degree is required for working on an assemble line. This is a form of discrimination; it discriminates against minorities that would most likely not have a degree.

I just found out that I don’t even qualify for an economic stimulus rebate check.  According to the information on the IRS web site, you have to make at least $3000.00 in the tax year of 2007 in order to qualify for a rebate check.  Therefore, base on my income level for that year, I do not qualify.  That makes no sense at all, how can someone that really needs an economic stimulus check not qualify?

I was born in Havana, Cuba and grew up on the north side of Chicago. When I first arrived in Chicago in 1971 at the age of 5, I lived in Edgewater. Then in 1974, I moved to Rogers Park. Back in the 70’s this was a great neighbor. However, in the late 80’s it turned into a very dangerous area. Hardcore drug dealers, gang members, and crack houses all over Damen Ave. I even witnessed a couple of drive by shooting, fortunately, no one was killed. Seems like hood rats can’t hit the broad side of a barn. The neighborhood is changing once again, hopefully for the better. However, there still is a lot of “ bad element “ around. A lot of them keep spreading false rumors about me, they keep telling people that I’m angry because I’m not a “doctor”, or that I’m crazy. Well, let me clear this up, I have never said that I wanted to be one. That’s actually is illegal in all 50 states; it’s covered by both criminal law and civil law. If a judge deems it to be a public place, criminal law applies, even if it is not a public place, civil law can still apply, meaning that someone could file a lawsuit over that. That’s actually absurd, it's like a woman being angry that she’s not a prostitute, it makes no sense. That shows just how ignorant these people are. As for being “crazy “, I have never been diagnosed with any type of mental illness. By the way, that is also perverted risky behavior. I hope that clears up the record, for those people that know how to read. A year after graduating from high school in 1985, I enlisted in the U.S. Army for the Montgomery G.I bill. Although I had benign brain tumor when I was 6 years old, I still wanted to enlist for the experience, training, and money to go to college. I found out that the Army has a policy of giving anyone that has had that type of surgery a PMR ( permanently medically rejected). One of the Army doctors told me that if I was serious about joining the Army, I could apply for a wavier, which I did. After receiving the waiver, I was called back for another medical evaluation; again I was given a PMR. However, when I went back to the recruiting office, they said that they were going to ship me out away.  My MOS was telephone central office repair, and I needed to get a security clearance, because all telephone companies in the Army are secured areas. I received an A-1 security clearance, which is the highest one that the army gives out to recruits that are going into basic training. It just means no priors or affiliations, and nothing much has changed, I’m still not a criminal or mentally ill. Anyway, I found out why the Army has that policy of giving out PMR’s to anyone that has had a brain tumor, it’s damn tough! One of my drill sergeants told everyone in 1st. platoon that the Army does not pay out benefits, until you have been on active duty for a certain amount of time. He added, that if any of us felt that there was some reason why we shouldn’t be in basic training, we should leave. Because if anything happened before that 6 month period, the Army would not pay out any benefits at all. Therefore, I decided to leave. My days at Fort Dix, Delta 5-5 are long over, but now I am going through another hell. For some reason people here don’t like me, just about everywhere I go, I hear some people say, “no one like him” or “people don’t like him”. As a result, no one will here me. I can’t get a job anywhere. That has been going on for years now, as a result of that, I don’t even have that much work experience. I’m 41 years old and I have nothing to show for it. No credit cards, no bank accounts, and no car, not even a cell phone. Perhaps, I should have stayed in the Army.
