Stroger and the rest of his full loaded staff need to take paycuts, for the good of the people, show us that you CARE about the little people that you were SWORN to serve, and that you are willing to stick it out, even at the sacrifice of your own wallets!
Get rid of NON ESSENTIAL STAFF, (ie, all of those positions that sat empty for YEARS during J. Strogers days, that Todd so quickly felt the need to fill up with his family and friends almost immediately after he was sworn into office.)

Start tracking all of those County owned vehicles, and make employees drive their own cars to work on their own dime, just like every other working class "Joe" has to. Our tax dollars should not be used to pay for them to go to work, considering we pay them their wages.

As for Governor Rod "Useless" Blagojevich's plan to "Clean up" Chicago's Crime for us...I say, ROD, Shut up & sit down before you hurt yourself!
You have an entire State to run, and you can't even do that effectively. You could not even trust yourself, as Governor, to clean up Springfield's crime enough for your own Family/children to reside and be educated there, and that is SMALLER then Chicago, By statistics of 2000 Chicago had a population Est. at 12 million people, and Springfield had an Est. 112,000 people that same year!
Just sit back, wait for your term, and career to end! Then you can slink away in shame as the most incompetent and wasteful governor in Illinois History!

These campaigns are being treated like a celebrity awards show...When in reality it should be treated more like a JOB INTERVIEW...Because that is exactly what it is.

We have two people applying for 1 position, WE the voters are the "EMPLOYERS/HUMAN RESOURCE Dept." Our job is to look at the past work record, experiences, and special skills to decide who is better qualified for the job.

I know when I have applied for jobs in the past, no one ever compared my spouse to another applicants' spouse...WHY ON EARTH DO WE?

All I can say is....GROW UP! Investigate each person's views as in individual...NOT because the media says this guys' wife is more likeable then that guys' wife.... Put aside party affilations, and judge these candidates solely on their qualifications....Just like you'd want done if you were the applicant!

Mrs. Clinton is so obsessed with her hunger for presidential power that she shows herself willing to go to any lengths to seize the White House.

 I could not disagree more with Barack Obama’s pork spending, tax raising, and defeat-embracing liberal agenda, but a recent attack by the Clinton campaign on Mr. Obama was the worst sort of the politics of personal destruction. It was one based on racial stereotypes. Such an attack is racism in all of its ugliness. Though the Congressional Black Caucus has yet to condemn this vicious racial smear, I can’t help but respond.
Perhaps the Black Caucus’ silence is concrete evidence of the silliness of the Left’s notion that racial identity is determined by ideology. You know the logic. Clarence Thomas is conservative, therefore not black. Perhaps Caucus members are victims of this mindlessness and believe the Clintons are incapable of waging racist attacks on blacks because they are “black.” Excuse me, I digress.
 Hillary Clinton has a big problem. It’s not because her Christmas ad was perhaps the single worst political ad in this presidential primary season. It’s instead that Mr. Obama has put Mrs. Clinton on the ropes, and so in desperation her New Hampshire co-chairman insidiously suggested that Mr. Obama was a former drug dealer.
Mr. Obama confessed in his earlier writings that he used recreational drugs as a young man.
Not able to stop his momentum, the Clinton camp latched onto his drug use. When that failed to get traction, Clinton’s co-chairman Billy Shaheen said—without evidence—that Obama may have been a cocaine dealer.
 It’s hard to believe in an operation as professional and tightly disciplined as the Clinton campaign that such an attack was unauthorized. Mr. Shaheen was deliberately testing that attack. It blew up in their faces, Mrs. Clinton publicly denounced him, and he resigned in disgrace. He’s the fall guy for one of the most despicable political attacks in modern presidential politics.
The Clintons have always decried the politics of personal destruction. Labeling any accusations about Bill Clinton’s personal life as the lies of “a vast right-wing conspiracy,” the 1990s saw the President and First Lady constantly denouncing rumors of past personal misconduct. These condemnations of the politics of personal destruction have continued throughout Mrs. Clinton’s Senate years and in her presidential campaign.
Yet in a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black, the Clintons have again dived into the politics of personal destruction themselves, suggesting that a black male who once used drugs must have been a dealer. They make this baseless charge with the full confidence of impunity.
If Mr. Obama was white and grew up in the suburbs, would anyone accuse him of being a cocaine dealer? Probably not. The Clinton campaign is accusing him of being a drug dealer because of his skin color, and makes the attack against him nothing short of alarming.
These attacks turn back the clock on race relations. How terrible to see the wife of “the first black president” playing the race card in a ruthless effort to crush the man who may become our first African-American president.
As the primaries heat up, these attacks are only going to get worse. Mrs. Clinton is worried right now, but not yet desperate. Though this attack is a desperate act, it’s only a foretaste of what’s coming if Mr. Obama wins in some of the early states.
Mrs. Clinton knows that 2008 is the only chance she’ll ever get in her life to become president. She’s the frontrunner, with every advantage possible. If she is derailed by the eloquent community activist from Chicago, the party will pass her by. Right now she is the “co-president,” painting herself as a key player in the Clinton White House, and fully able to take the reins of power.
If she doesn’t prevail now, the conventional political wisdom will instead be that the only reason she was ever a possibility was because of who she married, that she never had the gift herself. Once that becomes the narrative, she’ll never come close to the nomination again. By 2012 or 2016, she’ll be like Ted Kennedy, the famous family member of a former president who had her shot but could not close the deal. That would be the end of the Clinton era.
So instead of Mrs. Clinton benevolently blessing all of us common folks with her Christmas gifts of socialist medicine, government-run child-raising, and higher taxes, she’s had to dive into the mud to crush her rival. Instead of waltzing to the nomination wearing kid gloves, she’s had to wear brass knuckles in a street fight. And when her uppity rival refused to know his place, she had a henchman whip him by insinuating that he was a drug dealer.
Decent people of every ethnicity should reject degrading racial stereotypes regardless of politics, and the Congressional Black Caucus should join the ranks of those speaking out against this outrage.
This is the worst kind of politics of personal destruction. Instead of bringing Americans together, it drives us apart.
 It is slanderous and shameful, and degrades our national discourse. But Mrs. Clinton is so obsessed with her hunger for presidential power that she shows herself willing to go to any lengths to seize the White House. And all Americans—regardless of color—are devalued if we fail to speak out against her political sleaze.

Last week Congressman Rohrabacher and Democrat Congressmen William Delahunt and Silvestre Reyes put forth a bi-partisan resolution to release Compean and Ramos.

But it only took a few days for the wind to change direction:

And to add insult to injury, according to Congressmen Dana Rohrabacher, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus is BLOCKING his resolution to release Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos, the brave border agents who were wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for what Congressman Tom Tancredo described as "doing their job."

Rohrabacher:

"The [Democratic] leadership has gone along with the Hispanic Caucus... Instead of being proud Mexican-Americans who are defending our border, the Hispanic Caucus is portraying them as simple, brutal cops who are committing police brutality."

Supporting a resolution to release Compean and Ramos should be a no-brainer>

On the one hand, there's Compean and Ramos, two United States citizens of Hispanic descent who proudly and bravely served their country and tried to secure our borders.

 On the other hand, there's Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, a criminal alien drug smuggler whose repeated LIES SENT THESE TWO BRAVE HISPANIC BORDER AGENTS TO PRISON!

 

So why would the Hispanic Congressional Caucus -- if Rohrabacher is right -- actively oppose coming to the aid of these brave former border agents of Hispanic descent?

 But according to Rohrabacher there is hope. He believes the House Judiciary Committee will consider the resolution to release Compean and Ramos if they hear from you!

"If there's enough negative feedback, I think that position could change."

 The Administration Released A List This Week Of Those He Is Pardoning. Guess Who Was Not On The List!

You read that right! The Administration just released a list this week of the people he is pardoning.

Compean and Ramos were NOT on the list!

According to Rohrabacher, the list of pardons includes "eight drug dealers" but not the "unjustly imprisoned Border Patrol agents."

 Actually, there were 29 pardons and 1 sentence commutation.

29 wrongdoers are getting a pardon for Christmas... for Compean and Ramos, a lump of coal!

Rohrabacher added: "[T]he fundamental miscarriage of justice in the case of agents Ramos and Compean... is a snub to the families and a slap in the face to millions of Americans..."

When asked WHY Compean and Ramos did not receive a pardon, White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said:

"Well, there's processes in place for pardons, and those two individuals, if they want to seek a pardon, they can go through the process, as well."

So, it's Compean and Ramos' fault they were not issued a pardon.

But wait a minute! Hold your horses! The American people were told a YEAR AGO that the case would be reviewed!

You might remember what Tony Snow said almost a year ago:

"What we're doing is getting the entire trial transcript so everybody can see what happened in trial, and we can try to discern the real facts of the case."

The paradox of the Islamic Jihad being waged against the West, is that it is a Jihad that is itself parasitic on the West. It could not exist without Western money and Western support. Without these it would quickly shrivel up and die.

There are few better demonstrations than Abu Hamza or Captain Hook living on the dole in the UK while preaching terrorism. Abu Hamza is simply a microcosm of Islamic terrorism which feeds off the West, from the Saudi sponsored Jihad funded by Western oil money and protected by American tanks to Pakistan's ISI backing of the Mujahadeen which would not have been possible without American support to Fatah's terrorist infrastructure now being revitalized by the State Department-- Islamic terrorism is dependent on the West.

 The reason that most Arab states exist in the first place is that they were created by England or France and funded by the United States. The House of Saud and the entire fiction of Saudi Arabia was created with British and American support. The Arab League was organized by the British and when they discarded it, the United States picked it up in order to use it as a bulwark against Communism.

 About the only real export of these Arab states is oil and this oil was discovered and developed by primarily American companies which were then slowly taken over and in effect nationalized by these Arab countries. The ruler of the House of Saud, Ibn Saud, began as a bandit and camel raider in the desert at the turn of the century. American and British patronage turned him into a monarch and turned Saudi Arabia into a wealthy land. The House of Saud turned around and has backed Islamic terrorism and expansionism across Europe, America and the World.

Saudi money drives the global Jihad but Saudi money and oil are really American money and oil. It was American tanks that kept Saddam out of Ridyah in 1992. But it is in fact America that has kept most of the Arab world intact. It was America which forced England, France and Israel to pull out of Egypt in the 1956 Suez Canal War. Egypt rewarded America for this by inviting the Russians in. It was American influence that kept Russia from going into Iran instead of Afghanistan. Today Iran is America's worst enemy. The list goes on and on.

 If America and Europe did not exist, does anyone really believe that oil hungry world powers like Russia or China or Japan would have allowed the tinpot bandit Emirs and Princes and Tyrants of the Arab countries to keep control of their oil for very long? It was the long hand of America that protected them all along. For all their wealth and brutality, no Arab state has managed to defeat even tiny Israel, how long would they have lasted against Russia or China?

Not only has America protected their independence, it has even allowed them to nationalize resources developed by American and British companies. The United States has pumped in money and sacrificed the lives of American soldiers to protect them, in return we have received terrorism, oil boycotts and the funding of Islamic expansionism on our own soil.

Rarely has ingratitude been so viciously manifest, but all this goes to show that the Jihad is a self-destructing Jihad. The Jihad is aimed at the West, yet it could not exist without the West. The Islamic terrorists attacking America resemble an angry passenger carving a hole in his lifeboat in the hopes that everyone else in the lifeboat drowns while he somehow swims to safety.

The Arab world has produced nothing in the last century, its technology and its money come from outside. Its literacy level is below that of Sub-Saharan Africa and its labor, from its oil production to its simplest tasks is done by imported foreigners, often Westerners.

 The self-destructing Jihad, should it destroy the West, would leave the Middle East barren, without customers for its oil, tourists for its cities, workers for its oil operations and protection for its kingdoms.

 If the West responds by cutting immigration and achieving oil independence, then the Middle East will wind up with an economy based on worthless oil and a demographic time bomb turned against itself.

Either way the Jihad loses. The Jihad may succeed in either pushing the world back to the dark ages or at least turn the Middle East into fanatical Mullah and Imam ruled enclaves, but it won't create a new Islamic civilization, only chaos and dark ages. In Iraq and Gaza, the Jihad quickly degenerated into Muslims killing Muslims. This is nothing new, the Jihad in the end has always turned against fellow Muslims.

 When Muslims in the West wage Jihad, these engineers and doctors also attack the very system that provides them with a generous income and generates the technology and resources that makes their profession possible. When Muslims in the Middle East wage Jihad, they attack their best customers and the source of their protection and wealth. One way or another the Jihad is engineered to kill the Goose with the Golden Egg and is literally a suicide Jihad, because its success would destroy the very sources of that Jihad. -------------------------------------------------------

Should Rod Blagojevich remain as governor of Illinois?

He shows no inclination to resign from office.  And while the state constitution does allow for his impeachment by the Illinois House and trial by the Senate, it's doubtful legislators could bring themselves to such drastic action.

So the realistic question becomes this:

Given the multiple ineptitudes of Rod Blagojevich -- his reckless financial stewardship, his dictatorial antics, his penchant for creating political enemies -- should citizens create a new way to terminate a chief executive who won't, or can't, do his job?

Should Illinois join the 18 states that give voters -- as opposed to lawmakers -- the ballot power to remove state officials from office?

The Blagojevich experience suggests that the answer is yes!

Illinois should write a recall mechanism into its constitution.

Having endured the Blagojevich era, we believe voters never should have to endure another one like it. They instead should have the power to recall an inept governor.

400,000 people, and no media?

EDITOR'S NOTE: The following column addresses issues of homosexuality and is written to inform adults. It contains graphic descriptions of the Folsom Street Fair, an annual sexually charged, perverse event in San Francisco with mostly homosexual participants. The column shows what is at stake in the cultural battle and what the future holds for the society and our children if activists succeed in defining homosexuality as a protected status.

 

ALEXANDRIA, La. (BP)--

An estimated 400,000 people congregated in San Francisco on Sept. 30. Crowds flooded the neighborhood known as "South of Market" to take part in the 24th annual Folsom Street Fair. People from all over the nation -- even the world -– flocked to the Golden Gate city to celebrate and call attention to an aspect of their lives of which they are very proud.

Conspicuously absent from the huge gathering in northern California were reporters from any major news outlet. The Associated Press, United Press International and Reuters News Service apparently were all no shows. Even though the event took place in the Golden State, there were no reporters from the Los Angeles Times.

It would seem the mere fact that 400,000 people gathered in one place would be news, regardless of the reason they came together. The big three television networks didn't seem to think so since they also were missing in action.

If it were not for a few niche and alternative news publications, no one outside of San Francisco would have an inkling of what took place at the Folsom Street Fair. So what is the event and what exactly takes place? Be forewarned, the following descriptions are not for the faint of heart, even though they have been edited to mute the content.

The Folsom Street Fair is one of San Francisco's premier celebrations of alternate lifestyle -- specifically "leather pride." The "leather community" is a euphemism for those that indulge in sadomasochism, also known BLEEP&M. These are individuals that enjoy bondage, whipping, spanking and other unmentionable perversions.

While the Folsom Street Fair does draw a few heterosexual sadomasochists to the event, it is clear from reports that the overwhelming number celebrating were homosexuals –- mostly male.

The most detailed report of the event came from Pink News, an organization that describes itself as "Europe's largest gay news service."

"American police adopted a distinctly relaxed approach to this year's Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco," Pink News observed, "taking little notice of the hundreds of men baring their genitals on every street corner."

According to Pink News, there were orgies in the street, drawing "laughs and photographs from curious onlookers but no police action." Homosexual men and women walked down the street, completely naked, performing sex acts, the website reported. (Keep in mind the website provided far more detailed descriptions.)

Sounds like a wonderful event, doesn't it? So why did the news media ignore a gathering of 400,000 people? What would cause them to collectively look the other way? Because the Folsom Street Fair is as much a celebration of unbridled homosexual behavior as it is a fetish festival.

If the truth of what took place in the streets of San Francisco on Sept. 30 were broadcast from sea to shining sea, the "homosexual rights" movement would suffer a significant setback. If grassroots Americans saw homosexuals blatantly flaunting their sexuality in public, they would be appalled.

Make no mistake about it: America's major news organizations are complicit in promoting homosexuality. Hence, they chose to act as if the Folsom Street Fair did not even happen.

Even a bit of controversy did not cause the major news groups -- apart from a few conservative talk show hosts -- to give the event any attention. This year's Folsom Street Fair official promotional poster featured a parody of Da Vinci's Last Supper with Jesus and his disciples replaced by costumed sadomasochists with sex toys on the table.

Two conservative organizations -- Concerned Women for America and the Catholic League -- both called attention to the poster. That led to an additional controversy over Miller Brewing Company, one of the fair's major sponsors. While Miller did not pull its money from the event, it did instruct the fair's organizers to remove its logo from the poster.

Even with two major public policy groups calling attention to the event and its promotion, no major news organization, with the exception of Fox News, made any reference to the controversy.

According to Texas Media Watch, a non-partisan and independent media monitoring project, the most prevalent evidence of news bias can be found in the stories a news organization chooses to cover and the ones it chooses to ignore.

Let the infamous and unbiblical Fred Phelps and six of his followers show up to protest anywhere, and it will make the news. But 400,000 people show up at the Folsom Street Fair and the media completely ignores it because they understand it will impact negatively on the homosexual movement.

Political Correctness On Display In Washington As U.S. House Passes First-Ever Resolution Honoring Islam and Ramadan

An Important Message from Brigitte Gabriel

For the first time ever, the U.S. House of Representatives, on a 376 – 0 vote, passed a resolution honoring the Islamic holiday Ramadan and commending Muslims for their faith.

Congressman Tom Tancredo, one of 42 voting “present,” in a press release after the vote cited the resolution as "an example of the degree to which political correctness has captured the political and media elite" in America. He further stated: “I am not opposed to commending any religion for their faith. The problem is that any attempt to do so for Jews or Christians is immediately condemned as ’breaching’ the non-existent line between Church and State by the same elite.”

Congressman Scott Garrett commented that in his five years in Congress he could not remember a resolution honoring Christmas or Easter. As of this morning, a search by the ACT for America staff had not uncovered any resolution in the past 20 years honoring a Jewish holiday.

Other Members of Congress expressed being “troubled” by the resolution. Yet it passed without a single “no” vote. Why? And why the special treatment of an Islamic holiday?

Because politically correct treatment of Islam is growing, and the pressures in Washington to knuckle under to this political correctness have become extremely intense. I heard this loud and clear from Members of Congress when I spoke on Capitol Hill on September 10th. We know there are Members up there who are deeply concerned, and deeply troubled, by the growing and glowing affirmation of Islam, given Islam’s past and current history of violence, brutality, terrorism and intolerance. These congressmen and women need to know that there are millions of Americans who share their concerns. These congressmen and women need to know that there are millions of Americans who understand that Islam, especially militant Islam, has not been a religion of peace, and is, in fact, the major threat to peace and liberty in the world today.

This is why building ACT for America’s citizen action network is so immensely important. That’s why we need the help of every concerned citizen. As we build our chapter network, as we add tens of thousands, then hundreds of thousands, then millions of concerned Americans to this grassroots network, elected officials everywhere will know that there is another voice in this great country, a voice of the people who will not be intimidated by, nor bow to, political correctness. Our allies in the Congress and the state legislatures will know it. So will those who put their finger in the wind to determine which way they vote!

• Will you offer a congressional resolution calling on American Muslim Imams to issue fatwas against Hamas, Al-Qaida, Hezbollah and the rest of the barbaric organizations killing innocent people in the name of Islam?

• Will you offer a congressional resolution calling for the closing of the mosques and Islamic organizations in America that teach children that Christians and Jews are apes and pigs…that teach children to hate for Allah’s sake...that teach children it is the religious duty of every Muslim to overthrow America’s constitutional government and replace it with Islamic government under sharia law...that teach children that in order to fulfill the sacred obligation of Jihad they must invade the Western heartland and struggle to overcome it until all the world shouts by the name of the prophet Mohammad?
• Will you offer a congressional resolution calling for the closure of Islamic paramilitary camps that exist on American soil, compounds where militants are being trained in the tactics of armed Jihad?

The crocodile outrage flowed fast and deep yesterday after President Bush's promised veto of the Schip bill that would have vastly expanded a federal subsidy for children's health care.

Ted Kennedy called it "the most inexplicable veto in the history of the country."

Barack Obama decried a "callousness of priorities." Nancy Pelosi flirted with the edges of self-parody, saying: "President Bush used his cruel veto pen to say 'I forbid 10 million children from getting the health benefits they deserve.'"

Of course, the veto will not actually deprive any current enrollees (10% of whom are adults) of medical care. President Bush made sure of that when he signed a continuing resolution funding the program until an accommodation is reached. Count on this fact remaining little noticed amid the current political circus.

Democrats believe they have a strong shot at overriding the veto, but will wait a week or two to continue milking the controversy and to solidify a campaign issue for 2008. Of the eight House Democrats who opposed the expansion and three others who didn't vote, the leadership has already rolled five of them. That means at least 14 Republicans need to turn over as well, out of 151 in the opposition.

To that end, lobbying groups including Families USA, MoveOn.org, AARP, SEIU and AFSCME, as well as the Democratic Party, are mounting an advertising campaign targeting vulnerable Republicans, mainly in swing districts. No doubt we'll see more of the same end-of-days hysteria.

Harry Reid in particular has been trying to shame Republicans by name, singling out Rep. Roscoe Bartlett of Maryland, the only member of his delegation to vote nay. In response, Mr. Bartlett thanked Mr. Reid "for recognizing that I cast the only correct vote about Schip in the state of Maryland.... Democrats are demanding that Schip be expanded to have government-controlled, taxpayer-paid health care for millions of children who already have private health coverage."

In a soundbite, Mr. Bartlett has exactly described what the battle is all about.

I think it is critical to mention that, although Obama felt the need to criticize the President's decision,  Obama did not cast a Vote on this issue! Obama could not take himself away from his campaign trail long enough to do the job He was sworn to do!

There have been several other issues put to vote, that  the good Senator could not be troubled with!

Forgive me, I thought that his first responsiblitity was to be a SENATOR, and being a presidential hopeful is the hobby, But, His actions have indicated strongly that this is not the case! Is this the kind of man we want in office?
