Construction work begins for Casa Jalisco

The Federation of Jaliscience Clubs of the Midwest, a rotary club based in Chicago for the Mexican state of Jalisco, announced construction works have begun to build a community center in the western suburb of Melrose Park that will provide services to other Mexican nationals living in Illinois and neighboring states.

Work on Casa Jalisco started early September, but the center is expected to open its doors in the first trimester of 2009.

Federation leaders said the center will facilitate the emission of Mexican documents, offer legal advice and function as the site for cultural, social and recreational activities.
