If you were born in Africa then by all means call yourself an African American. If you were born in America - YOU ARE SIMPLY AN AMERICAN. ENOUGH OF THIS POLITICAL CORRECTNESS BULLSH**. If these people are being killed without due casue then it stands to reason that someone would make a big deal of it. Obviously if the community does not care if alleged crimes happen then why should anyone else. However - on the other side of the coin - if you play with fire you will get burned. Get these people off the streets and out of gangs and introduce them to something new - meaningful lives.

Hey Cheri2525, I hate to tell you , but these people that engage with the Police in a gun fight will probally be shot and maybe KILLED. These people had a different life style and cultural. They have no respect for the LAW or for anybody. The Jails and Prisons are full of them. Look how bad these neighborhoods are. I grew up in Englewood when it was White. My Dad drove the Halsted St. bus for 25 years. He use to tell me you can take them out of the Jungle, but can't take the Jungle out of them. He was so RIGHT !!!

Hello,

NoAngel, I'm not trying to use political correctness. However, I am entitle to use whatever term I desire to refer to my ethnicity.

Now, reading your response to my question made me very uneasy. I'm sure you're from another nationality, making a such a statement as that!
The fact of the matter is, you are still human, and for people of any color to just get shot and killed, and most of them for no reason other than them being "AFRICAN AMERICAN", so how can you justify this modern day lynching? Unless, there is some racism in you. Sean Bell, had just left his bachelor party, he and two friends were found to be unarmed, although police claimed they thought someone had moved to pick up a gun, was shot and killed and his two friends were wounded.

What happened to yelling freeze do not move or I'll shoot? If they had to shoot, then the appropriate thing to do ( as they once did in the past ) is to shoot the trigger arm. Why kill?

There are many more examples I could give to you, but if you read the newspaper then you already know. The reason so many "African American" men are sitting in jail is because they were framed. Not all, but a large percent! Governor Blogojevich, just pardoned and exonerated 19 inmates. Now, how many of them do you think are white? I think none, although I could be wrong.

Hello devildog67,

Well, having a street mentality ( or as your father said it, a jungle mentality )is not just with one race of people, but from all nationalities you can find all sorts of ignorance, uneducated, unhappy, low self-esteem, and even mental illness. People can change if they choose to. No one has to be a product of their environment-please remember this.

Cheri, I am not going to even touch on your comment about "senseless killings of African American people". In 1991, I was patrolling on the south side of Chicago. An African American male came up behind me, stole my baton and beat me with it for no reason. I received 19 stitches in my head, 10 in my right eye, a concussion and the possible loss of vision in my right eye. He wasn't charged with aggravated battery; he was charged with simple battery and got off with a year of probation. Don't believe me? I'd be glad to show you the court transcript and the medical records from Cook County Hospital. I am not going to take sides in this debate. However, I will like to point out; last week Chicago Police Officer Richard Francis was disarmed by an African American female and wasn't shot once, but three times, one time was in the head. I guess she was just shooting to wound the police officer, right? Officer Francis didn’t even threaten or provoke her; she disarmed and shot him for no reason. I know, she didn’t do it, all she was doing was picking up the revolver that the REAL shooter dropped just before running away and the police who responded as backup shot her because she was holding the officer’s revolver. Officer Ceriale didn’t belong and had no reason to be at Stateway Gardens on August 15, 1998, was harassing innocent African Americans and the drug dealer/ gang banger was justified in shooting Michael Ceriale. I guess that gang member who shot Michael Ceriale was just shooting to wound to. You, like a lot of people, are under the misconception of "shooting to wound". Ther

There never was and never will be a policy of "shoot to wound". If a person pulls a gun on a cop or federal agent, they are not "shooting to wound", they are shooting to kill. From your response to NoAngel, I can tell you have never handled a firearm in your life, because if you have, you would know “Shooting to wound" is a fallacy and unless you are as good of a marksman as Martin Riggs, there is no way in hell you can accurately hit a suspect in his/her firing arm when returning fire in a combat situation. When law enforcement are forced to discharge their firearms, we are trained to fire at the largest target available to put the suspect down. Any RESPONSIBLE person would not aim at such a small target as a hand or an arm; they aim for “center mass” also known as the chest area. If an officer aims for a hand or an arm, there is an excellent chance they will miss and possibly strike an innocent bystander. Then someone like you questions how and why a police officer shot an innocent person. I would really love to see you accurately fire a .40 semi-automatic handgun from 30 feet and hit a moving target ONLY in the arm or hand in a combat situation or under the pressure of someone firing back at you. You see, as I stated before, criminals won't "shoot to wound", they shoot to kill. They fire upon police and federal agents for one reason and ONLY one reason, they committed a crime and they want to get away and if they kill a cop, so what. A dead cop is one less cop they have to worry about in the future or next time they commit a crime. Criminals also fire any way possible no

Criminals also fire any way possible not caring who or where the rounds hit. Law enforcement are responsible for each and every round that leaves the muzzle of their firearm. Law Enforcement has only one option when being fired upon, to disable the threat as quickly as possible before an innocent person is hurt or killed.

Hello CI-Tracey,

O'k, criminals with guns are out to kill! However, police officers are suppose to use better judgment, therefore, not shooting a person full of bullets and somehow justifing it! What about the innocent people who were thought to have had weapons and were killed. Decent people! How about that?

That African American female, that shot and killed Officer Francis last week, is mentally ill. So, how can you equate this with what I'm talking about? I'm very sorry about the incident, as well as many others. What happened to you was, also, sickening. But, once again, these crimnal acts by people are expected-this is what you signed up for "to protect and serve". What about the young man that was shot riddled with bullets going into a building he lived in-over kill you think? The man was innocent! I'm talking about innocent people being killed and, somehow, found justifiable!

The African American cummunity is angry, and that is the reason they do not respect the Police Department. You guys are suppose to uphold the law, not act like vigilantes. If you are acting just like them ( crimnals ), well, how are they suppose to trust you?

I'm still trying to figure out how did a Ill Woman Strong-arm and take a Skilled Police Officers weapon and kill him with it?

There are reports that other Officers killed the Police Officer along with the Crazy Lady. Witnesses say they heard multiple shots, and the Chicago Police Department is INVESTIGATING the incident as we speak.

Again how did the Ill Woman take the weapon of a Trained, Skilled Veteran Cop? My prayers go out to his FAMILY and the Police Community as a Whole!

NoAngel,

You are a "CANCER" to the Word Freedom of Speech, typical Racists who gets offended by terms people use to describe themselves.

I guess the Jews born in Germany were Germans right? No idiot they were Jews, and they make sure the World knows that "Never Again" - as they should!

Advice for the Angel of Death "NoAngel" stop looking for African American Blogs to post your Stupid, Racists Rants. Get a Life and a Job :-)

Hello JimAllen,

Yes, I heard about other officers being thought to have shot the deceased officer. And, no, I do not understand how the woman strong-armed that Police Officer!

You can believe this, if other Officers are to blame for his death, there will be a cover-up!
