We received this note from the folks we have worked with on our food drive:

"While there are still outstanding food pallets to be counted, it is my pleasure to inform you that we have generated over $1.6 Million in combined food and cash contributions.  This amount will help feed over 2.2 million people..."

I want to thank all of our viewers for their support.  Once again we see that Chicago has some of the most generous supporters of people in need.  To the team at the food banks who work so hard on this every day, Jewel-Osco employees who pitched in, and our great on and off air staff here at Fox Chicago...thank you as well.  The need continues!
