KORI CHAMBERS JOINS “GOOD DAY CHICAGO”

CHICAGOKori Chambers is the newest member of the “Good Day Chicago” team, announced Patrick Mullen, the station’s Vice President and General Manager.  Chambers will handle a variety of reporting and anchoring responsibilities for the program.

In making the announcement, Mullen stated, “We’re thrilled to have Kori join FOX Chicago as we expand “Good Day Chicago” into the 9:00 a.m. hour.  His strong broadcast experience and engaging personality makes him the ideal addition to our morning news team.”

Prior to joining WFLD-TV, Chambers served as an anchor and reporter for WDIV-TV in Detroit since May 2005.  Previously, he was a weekend morning anchor and reporter for KVBC-TV in Las Vegas and before that as a reporter for WGGB-TV in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Chambers added, “I’m excited to be working with the talented news team at FOX Chicago.  I look forward to contributing to the station and the community.”

An upstate New York native, Chambers graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.  He has been recognized by the Detroit School Board for his weekly volunteer work in the classroom and in 2006 teamed up with Carver K-8 Learning Community to create and instruct a media course.  He is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.

I think that ABC7 does the most community based advertsising to promote press events like this, for they continue to reach large numbers of people who otherwise would not know about these tyoe of additions if they were not already viwers.

Mark,

1) try using “grammar check” and “spell check” a little more often before you post remarks.

2) Why would WLS/ ABC Ch.7 cover the appointment of a personality to a competing news organization and service? Don't you think if Ch.7 promoted the appointment of Kori Chambers viewers may switch from Ch.7's morning show(s) to "Good Day Chicago" to see the changes and the new personality?

Not really a rocket scientist are you?

If I asked "What Time It Is" versus "What Time Is It?" would you give me different answers.?

My point is that their announcement should have been promoted in local, community media to reach a new audience for FOX, similiar to what ABC7 does with their local promotional announcements. I did not mean that ABC7 should promote FOX. FOX should promote FOX if they want people other than existing viewers

Who really cares? No One!

If "no one" cares, then there never would any form of announcement in the first place, nor comments. And the one who cares the most is the one who has to answer as to why the morning ratings went up or down after the new addition.
