The tornadic stretch of weather finally came to a hault yesterday.  After 23 consecutive days of tornadoes reported in the USA, we were tornado free today.  The Storm Prediction Center posts daily reports on their website of storm reports from across the country.

Looking at the twister reports since May 22nd, there are many  storms that were not far from Chicago.  We live in an area where we have to be ready for severe weather.

While the pattern of stormy weather shifts, this is the time to prepare!  Make sure you are getting weather alerts, forecasts, and have a NOAA Weather Radio in your home.

Has it been crazy weather in the Midwest or what? I live in Minnesota currently, but have family in the Chicago 'burbs, so I keep an eye on your weather too. I drove to the town of Hugo, MN on Memorial Monday to see the devistation that an f4 storm had done the day before. UNBELIEVABLE! I was both sad for the families that were now homeless, had lost family members, (there were 2 deaths, one a toddler), and at the same time in awe of the power of Mother Nature.
